The Director of Business Development for C5ISR at Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG), MD is directly responsible for the creation and implementation of the strategies that will drive revenue and profitability in this key customer region. Primary area of responsibility will be customer engagements and business growth at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD with PEO C3T, PEO IEWS, CECOM, C5ISR, CFT Networks, and other Army stakeholders & USMC. Responsible for creating and developing strategic relationships with partners and potential customers. Under the direction of the Vice President, C5ISR, this individual will execute the strategic business and operational plan at APG. The Director of Business Development for C5ISR APG is expected to meet or exceed corporate goals, objectives, and directives while maintaining our highly established corporate reputation as our Nation’s leading partner in readiness. Expectations of this position are to maintain a winning and focused direction through strategic planning, accountability, creativity, superior organizational skills, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Meet/exceed assigned revenue and profit goals on a quarterly basis and against an annual goal.
  • Develop opportunities in the C5ISR market category at the Headquarter or Programmatic level
  • Establish customer relationships and opportunities in C5ISR market category and focused vertical.
  • Maintain and continually build relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Develop requirements with customers for future program purchases and potential proposals or long-term contract endeavors by offering the equipment and services provided by our company.
  • Travel to client locations and attend symposiums, conferences, tradeshows, and exhibitions; and conduct vendor ride-a-longs to cultivate sales opportunities.
  • Actively develop competitive and customer intelligence: Communicate market intelligence, opportunities, and threats to the company.
  • Ascertain industry and customer briefs identifying future budget or program initiatives
  • Recommend product solutions to customers, and our other market teams based on customer needs/requirements.
  • Research target demographics, economic trends, customer needs and interests and other data that can be used in creating strategies for business development
  • Attend technical training pertaining to the technology of products within C5ISR market. Train customers to operate and maintain new equipment.
  • Study each product offered by Noble and be able to persuasively educate and inform customers of how each works and its specifications; understand how to upsell and recommend complementary products.
  • Develop a marketing strategy and proper medium to reach your customer basis.
  • Lead the organization through the Noble capture and proposal process for opportunities.
  • Conduct customer, market, and competitive analysis to support discretionary budget spend
  • Assist with the follow-through and employment of Noble’s vision, strategies, and tactics
  • Coordinate and facilitate activities and commitments with other departments and/or functions
  • Participate/coordinate in strategic alliances and other external business relationships
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers, vendors, partners, and staff to develop key relationships
  • Coordinate and execute regular sales meetings
  • Understand the government budget process. Perform analysis of DoD & program office budget to support capture efforts

Additional Duties

  • Assist Inside Sales or Sales Support Staff in data entry generating quotes for customers and identifying optimal funding opportunities available to them.
  • Make presentations on Noble portfolio of products and services
  • Take ownership and responsibility for all aspects of the customer sales process.
  • Manage and provide weekly reporting, pipeline of sales opportunities, quotes, and orders.
  • Maintain and update a Goggle calendar consisting of professional sales calls, in-person meetings, travel, and trade shows
  • Submit required reports to management on time: Weekly Sales Reports, Pipeline Reports, Expense Reports, Market Study Reports, After Action Reports (as required)

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven work experience as a Business Developer
  • Established understanding of Government Sales and Federal Contracting.
  • Experience working with Department of Defense, Military, Federal Agencies, Law Enforcement, and commercial private sector.
  • Understanding of the C5ISR space.
  • Knowledge of Noble products, markets, and technology.
  • Ability to complete work within given deadlines with little supervision.
  • Ability to carry out skillful negotiations.
  • Strong communication, analytical and financial skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Active security clearance or Ability to obtain a one.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of business development experience, ideally in an operations role. Experience should have been gained working with a Prime Government Contractor with exposure to large operations and initiatives.
  • Master's degree or equivalent; and at least 10 years of business-related progressive experience Preferred.
  • Prior military experience Preferred.
  • Prior experience working with Army, Air Force and USMC requirements definition and acquisition personnel and organizations Preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills; planning, organization, and time management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Required to meet with customers in various environments. This job operates in a professional office environment and home office for administrative duties. Noble office space will be available at the Noble AGP office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, photocopiers, and scanners.
